The policy is aligned with the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (KVKK) and with international standards for data protection (GDPR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Data Controller<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kafademi Scientific Research and Development Cooperative<\/strong> acts as data controller within the scope of this policy. Personal data processing operations conducted by the publishing-services provider (S.S. Kafademi Scientific Research and Development Cooperative) and by sub-processors are carried out on behalf of and under the responsibility of the data controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Personal Data Processed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following categories of personal data may be processed in connection with the journal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Identity:<\/strong> Name, surname, academic title, ORCID<\/li><li><strong>Contact:<\/strong> Email address, telephone, correspondence address, institutional affiliation<\/li><li><strong>Submission and review:<\/strong> Submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence<\/li><li><strong>Account and login:<\/strong> Username and password records held in the submission system (NoviPress)<\/li><li><strong>Technical:<\/strong> IP address, browser type, visit time and similar data collected for the purpose of website operation and analytics<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Purposes of Processing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personal data are processed for the following purposes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Managing manuscript submission, peer review and publication processes<\/li><li>Communicating with authors, reviewers and editors<\/li><li>Plagiarism screening and DOI assignment<\/li><li>Statistical evaluation of website use and improvement of services<\/li><li>Compliance with legal obligations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Legal Bases for Processing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The processing of personal data rests on the following legal bases set out in Article 5 of KVKK No. 6698:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Explicit consent of the data subject (for the use of the submission system)<\/li><li>Necessity for the establishment or performance of a contract (the relationship between author and journal)<\/li><li>Necessity for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject are not harmed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Retention Period<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personal data are retained for the period necessary to meet the purpose of processing and the legal obligations of the data controller. Records relating to published articles and DOI metadata are kept permanently for the long-term preservation of academic content. Personal data relating to unaccepted submissions are deleted within a reasonable time once the process is closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Data Security<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data controller has put in place technical and administrative measures appropriate to the nature of the personal data and the level of risk. These include SSL\/TLS encryption, access controls, regular backups, training of editorial staff on data security and incident response procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Third-party Transfers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personal data may be transferred to the following third-party processors necessary for the operation of the journal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>NoviPress<\/strong> (manuscript management system)<\/li><li><strong>Crossref<\/strong> (DOI assignment and metadata)<\/li><li><strong>iThenticate \/ Crossref Similarity Check<\/strong> (plagiarism screening)<\/li><li><strong>Google Analytics<\/strong> (website traffic analytics)<\/li><li><strong>WPML \/ WordPress extensions<\/strong> (multilingual site infrastructure)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each third-party processor operates under its own data protection policy. Reviewers and editors may not upload submission texts to artificial intelligence or cloud-based language models (see <a href=\"https:\/\/kemaltahircalismalari.com\/en\/ethical-principles-and-publication-policy\/\">Ethical Principles \u00a7 6<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Cookie Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The journal website uses cookies for technical and analytical purposes. Technical cookies are required for the proper functioning of the site (session cookie, language preference cookie). Analytical cookies allow anonymous statistical measurement of site use. Rights of the Data Subject (KVKK Article 11)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under Article 11 of KVKK No. 6698 you have the right to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Learn whether your personal data are processed<\/li><li>Request information where they are processed<\/li><li>Learn the purpose of processing and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose<\/li><li>Learn about the third parties to whom personal data are transferred at home or abroad<\/li><li>Request the correction of personal data that are incomplete or processed inaccurately<\/li><li>Request the erasure or destruction of personal data, subject to the conditions set out in the law<\/li><li>Request notification of those operations to third parties to whom data have been transferred<\/li><li>Object to a result arising solely from the analysis of processed data by automated means that is to your detriment<\/li><li>Request compensation for damage suffered as a result of unlawful processing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10.
