Aims
Kemal Tahir Studies is an academic platform that examines the works, intellectual legacy, and social analyses of Kemal Tahir—one of the most significant figures in Turkish literature and thought—through a multidisciplinary approach. The journal aims to deepen research on Kemal Tahir, encourage scholars from various disciplines to contribute to this body of knowledge, and make this intellectual heritage visible in both national and international academic circles.
In this regard, Kemal Tahir Studies seeks to foster connections among fields such as literature, sociology, history, political science, law, and philosophy by publishing critical readings of Kemal Tahir’s novels, literary style, understanding of history, social theories, and conception of the state.
Scope
Kemal Tahir Studies will publish high-quality academic articles, review essays, book reviews, interviews with experts, and original contributions based on archival documents that engage with Kemal Tahir’s intellectual, literary, and sociological legacy. The journal particularly plans to publish work on the following topics:
- Literary analyses of Kemal Tahir’s novels
- Historical novel theory and its relationship to Turkish modernization
- Kemal Tahir’s approach to social structure and state theory
- Law, the penal system, and prison narratives in Kemal Tahir’s novels
